Brant Beach was established in 1909 and below Long Beach Boulevard, 53rd through 74th Streets bear the names of Naval officers of the nineteenth century, as they were a part of the original development the town. The entire town of Brant Beach though, lies between Ship Bottom and Beach Haven Crest from 31st Street to 74th. In terms of the name of the town, Henry McLaughlin decided to name his small community after the small geese that were attracted to the area's bayside cove. Brant Beach was also the first development on Long Beach Island that offered electricity to its home owners. It also had its own well and water tower.

Brant Beach is the home of Long Beach Township head quarters aka James J. Mancini Municipal Building (Call (609) 361-1000) for Information. Bay View Park is located on the ocean and bay blocks 68th Street respectively. During the summer months, lifeguards patrol all of the township's beaches and Bay View Park, in addition to bathroom and parking facilities, is one of the most popular spots to launch windsurfers and kit-boards.
